French AI startup Mistral has released its first multimodal model, Pixtral 12B, which can process images and text. The model has 12 billion parameters and is available on GitHub and Hugging Face. It can be downloaded, fine-tuned, and used under Mistral's standard license, which requires a paid license for commercial applications but not for research and academic ones.
