NVIDIA announced the first on-device small language model (SLM), Nemotron-4 4B Instruct, at Gamescom, which is powered by RTX AI and provides better role-play, retrieval-augmented generation, and function-calling capabilities. The model is part of NVIDIA ACE, a suite of technologies for bringing digital humans to life with generative AI. The first game to showcase ACE technology is 'Mecha BREAK' from Amazing Seasun Games.

Calsoft, an NVIDIA Metropolis partner, implemented a vision AI application to automate tollbooths in India, using NVIDIA technologies integrated with the country's dominant payment system, UPI. India has the globe's second-largest road network, spanning nearly 4 million miles, with over a thousand tollbooths, most of which are run manually. Manual tollbooths demand more time and labor compared to automated ones.
