Facebook has admitted to scraping the public photos, posts, and data of Australian adult users to train its AI models, with no opt-out option. Meta's global privacy director Melinda Claybaugh confirmed this during an inquiry. The data scraping started from an unknown date, but Facebook has not used Australian posts from as far back as 2007 to feed its AI products.
