A user on the Chiphell forums has leaked details of AMD's new Zen 5 APU, the 'Strix Halo', which is rumored to have a multi-chiplet design with two Zen 5 CCDs and an SoC die incorporating a massive RDNA 3.5 GPU with more graphics compute units than the PS5 or an RX 7600 XT.

HPE, a major server manufacturer, has filed a lawsuit against Inspur, China's largest server maker, and its affiliates, accusing them of patent infringement and deceptive practices. HPE claims Inspur infringes its patents and has renamed its U.S. subsidiaries to continue business with American companies despite being on the Entity List.

Intel's upcoming Xeon 6 series CPUs, featuring Granite Rapids and Sierra Forest SKUs, will have massively increased core counts but at the cost of high power consumption. The highest-core count Granite Rapids part, the Xeon 6 6980P, has 128 cores and a TDP of 500W. Intel is equipping five Xeon 6 CPUs with a 500W TDP.

Micron is set to receive $6.1 billion in grants from the U.S. Commerce Department under the CHIPS and Science Act. The money will be used to build a massive DRAM fab and a new fab complex in New York over the next 20 years.

Intel Foundry has completed the assembly of the industry's first commercial High Numerical Aperture (High-NA) Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) machine in its D1X fab in Oregon. This marks a significant milestone as the company prepares for research and development of its 14A process in 2025. Intel Foundry is the lead customer for toolmaker ASML's Twinscan EXE:5000 machine, surpassing commercial rival TSMC and others in beginning R&D with the tool. The High-NA litho tool will enable Intel to print features as small as 3 nm.
