In Hong Kong, a romance scam operation using deepfake technology to impersonate attractive females has defrauded victims of $46 million through fake cryptocurrency investments. The scam involved 27 arrested individuals, including six recent university graduates and suspects linked to a local organized crime group. The group presented fake profit records to victims.

Adobe has announced Firefly Video Model, an AI-powered text-to-video generation tool trained exclusively on licensed content.
