Based on a survey report released by the China Trade Promotion Conference on Dec 27, 2023, over 80% of the surveyed companies plan to expand or maintain their foreign investment, and over 90% hold a positive attitude towards the future of China's foreign investment. The report shows that Chinese companies prefer to invest in countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. In terms of industry, 50% of the companies prefer to invest in the manufacturing sector, and nearly 30% prefer the wholesale and retail sector. The main objectives of foreign investment are to explore overseas markets, enhance brand international recognition, and reduce production and operation costs. Over 60% of the companies have seen increased or stable returns from their foreign investment.
